SHIRAZ / SYRAH WINE

The Shiraz / Syrah grape is called Syrah in the US, France and many countries.
In Australia it is called Shiraz, where it is considered the finest red wine grown there.
Shiraz is certainly the most widely planted red grape in Australia.
Shiraz is known for its spicy blackberry, plum, and peppery flavors.
Often there are additional notes of licorice, bitter chocolate and mocha.
Shiraz can be made in a fruity style, which many "sweet" wine drinkers enjoy.
It can also be made in a dry style.
Shiraz goes very well with beef and other hearty foods.
It also goes well with Indian, Mexican, and other spicy foods.
well my favorite choice of  syrah is Kendall-Jackson..
tasty, affordable and easy to find...

ENJOY

  1. I really like Ferraton Père & Fils Crozes-Hermitage. It goes awesome with my spicy style of Indian cooking, and the syrah is medium-bodied so you can drink it by itself more pleasurably than a heavy wine that needs a steak to accompany it. As for you suggestion, I'm gonna put on l'america and I looked at You on my playlist. cook on

  2. thanks for the comment .i am gonna have to try Ferraton Père & Fils Crozes-Hermitage. sounds fancy..kendall-jackson 2005 full bodied wine.. it is very smooth, well balanced, and has juicy red cherry flavors. The finish is dry, has soft tannins, and lingers slightly. This wine would be a wonderful complement for a saucy meat dish.. well i am cooking the dish right know.. i will post it soon =)

  3. the ferraton is a 2nd tier french wine within Côtes du Rhône, on their appelation controlle system - usually runs around $15-$20. Also, its 100% syrah where as alot of bottles from that region are blends, usually with up to 15% white wines in them. so its a good bottles to really taste a true french syrah grape unadultered
